A light in the jungle.
Four private, solar-powered lodges on a hillside between Corcovado National Park and the Tranquility reserve. Toucans at breakfast. Howler monkeys at dawn. Nothing else for miles.
An example of your day, from first howl to starlight.
There is no reception, no buffet, no schedule. Just your own lodge, a terrace over the canopy, and a day that starts when the howler monkeys say so.
05:40Howlers
The loudest alarm clock in the Americas. Open the sliding doors and let the jungle in.
07:00Coffee on the terrace
Toucans in the almendro tree. Every lodge has its own kitchen — bring what you like from town.
08:30Spot wildlife
Macaws at eye level, monkeys in the almendro — and the telescope on the terrace reaches all the way to the gulf.
10:30Take our private river trail
Our own stretch of river, a naturalist guide, and the forest at walking pace — it starts a few steps from your terrace.
13:00Siesta
Hammock, A/C, a book. The jungle goes quiet in the heat — so do you.
16:00Pool, then golden hour
Scarlet macaws commute over the hill every evening. Same time, same tree.
18:00Dinner
Cook in your own kitchen, eat over the canopy — the fairy lights and the cicadas handle the ambience.
19:30Frogs & fireflies
No light pollution out here. Night walks on our own trails, or just the telescope on the deck.
21:00Stargazing
The only light for miles is yours — switch it off, and the Milky Way takes over the terrace.
Scroll through the day
Four lodges. One hillside. No neighbours.
Each lodge stands alone in the primary forest with its own terrace, kitchen, A/C and hot water — powered by our solar system and well. Hand-crafted furniture, king- and queen-size beds, and doors that slide open onto the canopy.
Most loved★ 9.8Toucan Lodge
Two king-size bedrooms, an air-conditioned living room and a 54 m² terrace with a grill and hammock, hanging over the canopy. The lodge our guests photograph most — and book first.
Families & groups★ 9.0The Family Villa
A 260 m² glass-walled house with its own pool, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a 110 m² terrace. The whole jungle, to yourselves.
Couples★ 9.1Turtle Lodge
A 25 m² cottage for two with a queen bed, small kitchen and a 15 m² terrace looking over the jungle and the pool. Intimate, quiet, yours.
Couples & solo★ 9.6Morpho Lodge
Turtle's twin, a little higher up the hill. Queen bed, kitchenette, hot shower, and a terrace where the blue morphos drift past in the afternoon.
A pool in the middle of the jungle.
Fed by our own well and wrapped in primary forest, a few steps from every lodge. Swim at noon, float into golden hour — the howler monkeys handle the soundtrack.
Float into golden hour
Well-fed, always fresh
Loungers at the edgeNot a hotel. A wildlife corridor you happen to sleep in.
Maze Lodge sits on the strip of forest that animals use to cross between the Tranquility Wildlife Reserve and Corcovado National Park — the two biggest protected areas on the peninsula. We built four small lodges inside the existing primary rainforest instead of clearing it, so the monkeys, coatis, anteaters and macaws keep passing through exactly as they did before we came.
That's why you'll see more wildlife from your own terrace than on most guided tours. And why we run the place the way we do: solar power, well water, no restaurant, no noise — the forest around us left exactly as we found it.

Corcovado at 5 am. Bioluminescence at 5 pm.
We book everything with the local guides we trust — Josh on the water, Luis in the park — and most tours start 10 minutes from your door. Tell us what you're into and we'll build the days around it.

2.5% of the world's species. A fair share of them on your terrace.
The Osa Peninsula holds more biodiversity per square kilometre than almost anywhere on Earth. These were all photographed here — at the lodge or within a short drive.

“You can see toucans and monkeys while enjoying your morning coffee.”
Maze Lodge manages to achieve a very authentic, secluded feel whilst also providing all the comforts needed to make a jungle stay more enjoyable.

5.8 km from Puerto JiménezBad roads lead to good people.
We're 25 minutes up in the jungle from Puerto Jiménez — the last bit on a gravel track that keeps the forest quiet and the wildlife close. A 4x4 is the easy way in. If you'd rather not drive it, we'll pick you up in town for free.
Choose your dates, we'll hold the hill.
