There is no reception, no buffet, no schedule. Just your own lodge, a terrace over the canopy, and a day that starts when the howler monkeys say so.

Each lodge stands alone in the primary forest with its own terrace, kitchen, A/C and hot water — powered by our solar system and well. Hand-crafted furniture, king- and queen-size beds, and doors that slide open onto the canopy.

Two king-size bedrooms, an air-conditioned living room and a 54 m² terrace with a grill and hammock, hanging over the canopy. The lodge our guests photograph most — and book first.

A 260 m² glass-walled house with its own pool, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a 110 m² terrace. The whole jungle, to yourselves.

A 25 m² cottage for two with a queen bed, small kitchen and a 15 m² terrace looking over the jungle and the pool. Intimate, quiet, yours.

Turtle's twin, a little higher up the hill. Queen bed, kitchenette, hot shower, and a terrace where the blue morphos drift past in the afternoon.

Maze Lodge sits on the strip of forest that animals use to cross between the Tranquility Wildlife Reserve and Corcovado National Park — the two biggest protected areas on the peninsula. We built four small lodges inside the existing primary rainforest instead of clearing it, so the monkeys, coatis, anteaters and macaws keep passing through exactly as they did before we came.
That's why you'll see more wildlife from your own terrace than on most guided tours. And why we run the place the way we do: solar power, well water, no restaurant, no noise — the forest around us left exactly as we found it.

90 minutes by boat to Sirena station, then trails through the most biodiverse place on the planet. Tapirs, macaws, four kinds of monkey. Lunch at the station.

We're 25 minutes up in the jungle from Puerto Jiménez — the last bit on a gravel track that keeps the forest quiet and the wildlife close. A 4x4 is the easy way in. If you'd rather not drive it, we'll pick you up in town for free.
