Driving to Maze Lodge

Getting to Maze Lodge: Your Adventure Begins

Located just 5.8 kilometers from Puerto Jimenez, Maze Lodge sits nestled deep within the enchanting jungle of the Osa Peninsula. To reach us, take the scenic Route 245 towards Carate. After crossing the first bridge, make a right turn, and you'll enter a gravel road that leads you straight to our serene sanctuary.

Navigating this road can be an adventure in itself! Depending on the condition of the path, a high 4x4 vehicle is typically required to ensure a smooth journey. Keep in mind, though, that Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze might lead you to a point before our lodge, but don't be deterred. Just keep your eyes peeled for the Maze Lodge sign and continue on your way.

The gravel road may be bumpy, but this is ideal for preserving the delicate ecosystem where we operate. A rough surface helps maintain the natural habitat, keeping speeds low and minimizing disturbances to the wildlife—we value this greatly. In fact, we wouldn’t want it any other way, as the jungle's serenity and the presence of its diverse fauna are what enrich your experience with us.

If the drive feels daunting, worry not! Our friendly Maze Lodge staff is more than happy to arrange a pickup for you at no extra cost (pickup and return only).

Once you arrive, we encourage you to bring along refreshments from town, as each of our lodges is equipped with a kitchenette, featuring a fridge, stove, BBQ grill on the terrace, and a coffee machine. Everything you need to prepare delicious meals awaits you. Otherwise, its possible to order food from town from restaurants and Supermarkets.

Remember, bad roads lead to good people, and your journey to Maze Lodge will offer not only an adventure but also an unforgettable escape into the heart of the jungle. Safe travels!
